A loan of $575 helped to buy tires and service his vehicle.

Jorge Alfredo's story

Jorge, 29, is a young man living with his wife and he has a little three year old boy who is his adoration and for whom he works very hard to give him everything necessary and a happy life. His house is in the city of Pisco, a city that was devastated in 2007 by the earthquake of that same year in which many people perished and much sorrow was left behind among the residents. It’s also well known because the Ballestas Islands are there which are visited by infinity of tourists all year and also because of its fishing and agriculture.

Jorge used to work as a mototaxi driver in leased vehicles but with support from his in-laws and with some savings he had he was able to buy his own mototaxi. He works about 10 hours daily and can take care of up to 20 customers daily. He believes that he does well in his business because he’s very responsible and dedicated and also because he’s well known and has been in business seven years.

Jorge is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given him he will be able to buy new tires for the vehicle and to service the engine which will allow him to have a safe vehicle in good operating conditions to continue to offer passenger transportation services to be able to make his greatest dream a reality: to give a good education and quality of life to his son.
