A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase seeds, fertilizers, manure, pesticides and herbicides, and to pay the lease on his land, etc.

Napoleón's story

Napoleón is 60 years old, and is married with three grown children. He has worked as a farmer for more than 40 years, which has allowed him to provide for his family. He inherited this job from his forefathers, and has learned over the years how best to plant and grow corn and sorghum, among other crops.

Napoleón is requesting this loan to help with the preparation of his land for planting, since winter is coming soon, perhaps within in the next couple weeks. Because of this, he wants to begin getting the land ready, and also wants to make rent payments.

With the support from the loan, he plans to purchase seeds, fertilizers, manure, pesticides and herbicides, etc. With plantings of 21,000 square meters of corn and sorghum, he should obtain enough production to have grain for his own consumption and for sale.

Some of Napoleón’s future plans include purchasing a metal silo for storing his harvests, improving damages on his lands, changing the poles and wire for his fences, and doing repairs on his home.
