A loan of $800 helped to buy more artificial hair pieces.

Peace's story

Peace is a 27-year-old female. She is married and has a two-month old baby. She operates a retail shop where she sells artificial hairpieces within Kampala city center.

She started the business so that she could earn income to meet her daily needs. She wants this loan to buy more hairpieces to restock the shop. She has operated the business since 2009. She works six days each week from Monday to Saturday, from dusk until dawn. Her major clients are mainly salons that do plaiting and weaving.

Her dream is to expand her business into a wholesale shop. Her major challenge is competition from the neighboring shops that sell the same products, as well as the demand for hairpieces being seasonal, ie; mostly tied to the festive season. She describes herself as a hard working, social and shrewd person. Above everything else, she loves the kind of business she does and dreams of being the leading supplier of these products in her area.
