The group BENKADI is comprised of married women who average 38 years of age and four children each living in traditional families in TORAKABOUGOU, a district in Bougouni City (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). The women are on their first collaboration with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso to meet the needs of their customers. The group members do commerce in condiments with Ami, and they sell shelf items and shoes.

Ami (holding a sack of onions in the photo) intends to use her loan to buy 600 kg of onions. She gets her supplies in Sikasso. Accepting cash or credit, she sells retail to a customer base composed of men and women at her home and at the market.

She envisions making an average monthly profit 35,000 francs CFA. Part of the profits will be used to support her husband in covering day-to-day expenses, and the other part will be invested in the business.

Le groupe BENKADI est constitué de femmes mariées et ayant en moyenne 38 ans, 4 enfants et vivant dans des familles traditionnelles à TORAKABOUGOU, un des quartiers de la ville de Bougouni (3ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur première collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de condiments avec AMI, de la vente des articles de tablettes
et des chaussures.
AMI, avec un sac d’oignon en main sur la photo, compte acheter avec son prêt, 600Kg d’oignons. Elle s’approvisionne a Sikasso. Elle effectue sa vente à domicile et au marche à une clientèle composée de femmes et d’hommes, en détail, au comptant et à crédit.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 35.000.FCFA par mois dont une partie sera utilisée pour l’appui de son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes et l’autre partie sera investie dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
