A loan of $1,550 helped to purchase fuel for his tractor, fertilizer, and vegetable seeds.

George's story

George is 37 years old. He lives in a small village in the Kareli District with his family: wife Nona, two sons (12 and 9 years old), and parents (retired). His children go to school. The family earns a living through agriculture. They have three hectares of land, where they grow cabbage and beets. George sells the harvested vegetables to local greengrocery retailers. In addition with the aforementioned business, George also has a mini-tractor which he uses to till the plot his family owns. He also provides tilling services to neighboring farmers. The family's total average monthly income is 1,000 Laris, including the pension George’s parents receive.

George requested a loan to purchase fuel for the tractor in order to till the land. He will also purchase fertilizer and seeds of the aforementioned vegetables. George and Nona will work hard on their plot during the spring months. After proper seasonal work in spring, the family will get a better quality harvest than they did last year, and their income from sales will increase. They will be able to improve their family's living conditions.
