Fauzia is a married woman who has six children, four of whom attend school. She owns a house that has electricity, but not piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food for the family.
For the past one year, she has operated a beauty salon business, her potential customers are neighbours and passersby. She also operates a restaurant business which she earns her other source of income. She dreams of establishing a hotel in the future.
With the KES 40,000 she wants to purchase cosmetics and hair weaves for her beauty salon business. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
