A loan of $375 helped to buy pigs.

Juan Ramon's story

Juan Ramón is 25 years old and single. He lives with his mother and three siblings in Corral Viejo community, in San Esteban. He has been raising pigs for eight years. He started out buying a pig that he acquired with some savings from his job and he has gradually been increasing the size of his pigsty. Juan Ramón also works on construction jobs because he is the food provider for his household. As the eldest son, he has supported his mother in providing for his siblings. This is a hard-working and united family. Some of the problems that Juan faces are a lack of local market and not having a suitable establishment for raising pigs. He needs the loan that he is requesting to invest in the purchase of pigs. With the help of this loan, he will be able to improve the conditions of his pigsty. One of his goals is to have a larger pigsty. With better installations, he will be able to buy more pigs and thereby make more income. This is Juan's first loan from FAMA and he expects to make his loan repayments punctually.
