Nancy Viviana's story

Señora Nancy is a member of the Sociedad 12 de Abril communal bank. She lives in a beautiful sector of Cuenca city which has a cold climate. In December 1999, this area was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site due to the beauty of its architecture. The area has a rich natural heritage, and its culture and traditions are kept alive by its people. Nancy is 23 and a single mother of two children ages 3 and 5. Her eldest daughter attends a school in the city. Nancy owns their home. Nancy has been selling shellfish for two years. She works Monday to Saturday without a fixed schedule. This is her first loan with the communal bank. She was invited to participate by a friend. This loan will be invested in the purchase of shellfish. Nancy's goal is to have her own vehicle.
