A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase dusters, spare parts for blenders, etc.

Trancito's story

Trancito is a member of the communal bank Estrellitas. She lives on the outskirts of the city of Cuenca, which has a cold climate and since December of 1999 is a World Heritage Site. The city is bathed by four rivers and displays great natural beauty. Its people are very warmhearted, kind, gentle, and courteous. They maintain the culture and traditions of their peoples.

Trancito is 50 years old, married, and from her marriage she conceived four children, who are of ages 29, 27, 26 and 19. One of her children works to cover his personal expenses, her other two attend university in the city, and her youngest is going to a school in the city. Her husband works as a merchant. They do not own a home, so they rent.

Transito owns a market stall in the city, where she sells dusters, spare parts for blenders, and several other items. She has been doing this for 25 years and she works from Sunday to Sunday with no fixed schedule.

Our member has been with the communal bank for two years and is going to invest her new loan in the purchase of dusters, spare parts for blenders, etc. to continue growing.

Her dream is to have her own house.
