A loan of $1,900 helped a member to buy oxen.

Refuge De Dumas Group's story

Cantave is the coordinator of his Refuge de Dumas group. He is married and has five children. He lives in the town of Dumas in Haiti, where electricity is rare and water very limited.

Cantave has managed his business for the past six years. Before he began trading he was at school.

He would like to use this loan to invest in the purchase of oxen and hopes that the loan will enable him to expand his business.

The other members of the Refuge group need loans for businesses such as the sale of charcoal, rice and fish.

Cantave says that his principal challenge is the constant lack of buyers. He says that his main aim is to expand his business and his dream is to buy a lorry to transport the animals.

In this group: Cantave, Foufoune, Julmina, Saintjulia, Annamarie, Paulina, Brenor, Rose*, Agathie, Mariemonise
