Guadalupe, age 52, is a widow with five children. None of them are in her care since they are all married.

Since she was unfortunate to become a widow, Guadalupe had to find a way to support herself. She sells soft drinks from her home and has been in business for 12 years. Guadalupe would like to expand her business and generate more income, but she needs more merchandise. She will invest her loan in more soft drinks to sell. Guadalupe hopes that her loan will be very useful.

Guadalupe is a member of the group "Las Rosas" (The Roses), which is located in Llano Grande, in the town of San Marcos. The group consists of 12 hardworking women who know how to succeed without have to depend on anyone. The other members are Estela, Guadalupe, Juliana, Maria Isabel, Leonarda, Celia, Luciana, José Deibi, Alfa, Celida, and Froylan. They sell various products such as soft drinks, meals, groceries, tamales, clothing, corn, food, cooking utensils, and bread.
