A loan of $775 helped to buy fertilizers for her rice crop.

Maria Sabina's story

María is a 49-year-old woman. She is a single mother and has one child. She lives in her father's house in the small village of Las Mercedes de Partidor, in Las Lomas district. She lives in the rural part of the district but has electricity.

María's business consists of farming and livestock raising. She sows her crops together with her father. They have 7 hectares of land but only grow crops on 2 hectares and rent the rest out. As regards the livestock raising, they have suitable pens for raising sheep, pigs and farmyard birds. When they reach an ideal size and weight, they sell them in the local market.

María has requested a loan for 2,000 soles which she will use to buy fertilizers so that she can carry out the second fertilization of her rice crop.
