Deborah's story

Deborah is married with six children and three of her children are in school. She takes care of additional family members (Grandchildren). She sells fish from home and sells to all categories of people but at retail. She has been in this business for the last three years. She has applied for a loan of 2,000,000 Uganda Shillings from MCDT SACCO to buy more boxes of fish. Besides this fish business, she owns a retail shop. She works seven days a week. Her major business challenges include seasonality and transportation of boxes of fish from the landing site to her home. Her goals and aspirations are to become a wholesaler and to own a delivery van to ease in transportation. She resides in a home that she owns and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
