Veang's story

Veang, 29, is sigle and resides with her mother in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been working in a timber factory for over three years, earning approximately USD 3 per day.

In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Veang would like to run an additional business. Due to lack of funds, Veang requests a loan of USD 500 to purchase a plot of farmland to cultivate cassavas. This money will help her acquire the security to start this new business. In the future, she would like to use the profit to expand her business and rebuild her present house to make it more convenient for her family’s living conditions.
