A loan of $1,225 helped a member to buy yarn and threads.

Madres Ladereñas Group's story

Betty has been knitting products by hand for eight years. She recalls that it was a neighbor who taught her to knit. She gradually learned and perfected her skills. She and a group of neighbors provide a knitting service to several companies who export their products. However, Betty herself also knits items such as sweaters, ponchos, hats and scarves which she sells to friends and neighbors. The winter season is very good for her because she has a lot of orders. She will use her loan to buy materials such as yarn and threads wholesale. This will reduce her costs and she will make better profits. Betty is always ready to make new designs and so she trains by taking courses. Through her work, she has been able to provide her daughter with an education at a good school. In the future, she would like to open a workshop where she can continue working and display her products to the public. She is a member of the 'Madres Ladereñas' group which is made up of neighbors.
