Dulce Nombre De Jesus Group's story

A group of neighbors in the city of Cusco formed the Communal Bank “Dulce Nombre de Jesús” (The Sweet Name of Jesus). This communal bank has been in operation for a few years now and is very well organized. The group is formed by members who are always looking for opportunities to get ahead, and with their daily efforts, offer their children a better future. The economic activities of the members are the following: food sales, shoe sales, arts and crafts sales, mattress sales, animal husbandry, chicken sales, cosmetic sales and services such as sewing and transportation.

One of the members, Ruth, was born in the Cusco district of the province of Cusco and lives in the same city she was born. Ruth is 35 years old and has a son with her partner. Ruth alternates her household duties with her business providing sewing services. She has a little shop where she does all kinds of different sewing jobs, like basting, mending, sewing and other things. She’s been doing it for 10 years and it’s been going very well thanks to the hard work she puts into it.

Ruth is requesting this loan to buy work materials, such as thread, fabric, buttons and other items.

The members are grateful for the opportunity that they have been given and they promise to meet their payments in the required time.
