A loan of $1,075 helped to make improvements to her home and buy merchandise for her business.

María Alejandra's story

Alejandra, a young woman of 30, is single and lives with her parents in Los Bancos, a rural area in the province of Pichincha which is home to the capital of Ecuador. One of the main natural resources in Los Bancos is water. Countless streams and springs begin in that region and later turn into rivers of considerable size. There is a lot of commerce in the town, most of which happens on the main street where there are hotels, restaurants and shops, largely selling agricultural products as well as veterinary services and basic household goods.

Her main obstacle has been not having completed her formal education because she only finished high school. Due to financial need and her entrepreneurial spirit, 5 years ago she started selling plastic products and jewelry.

Alejandra wants a loan so that she can make improvements to her home and also buy merchandise for her store. That way she can increase the products she offers which will help her to pay off the loan that will also help her fix her house.
