A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase flour, sugar, yeast, and oil.

Oscar Jose's story

Oscar is 38 years old. He is a native of Estelí, is married, and has 2 children, both of whom still live with him. He makes a living selling bread. Oscar started his business 2 years ago with money he inherited from his mother when she passed away, and he chose to carry on by staying in the baking business. His wife helps him with his work. He sells his products in the city of Condega in the department of Estelí. Oscar hopes to continue selling bread, since his business is going very well and it has generated enough profits to help him get ahead.

Oscar is asking for a loan to purchase flour, sugar, yeast, oil, and the other ingredients he needs for making bread. He says that the loan will help him by allowing him to offer more products, which will increase his sales and thus enable him to earn higher profits. In the future he hopes to purchase an industrial oven and a compressor in order to lower his costs. Oscar’s long-term goal is to purchase a bus so he can distribute bread more easily to his customers.
