Amos's story

Amos is 50-year-old man. He is married to a farmer and they are blessed with five children with ages ranging from 3 to 16 years. For his entire life and for the past six years he has been in the quarry mining business. In addition, he does dairy farming where he sells milk to local residents. Amos sells building stones to local residents and contractors.

Initially, he had taken three loans of KES 20,000, 50,000, and 100,000, which he paid well. He is planning to use the loan of KES 100,000 to buy a drilling machine and pay for the casual laborers. He anticipates that his business will generate profits, which he will use to own his quarry and do away with leasing. Also, he has a plan of owning a lorry for delivering building blocks to customers. Amos describes himself as proactive, aggressive, and trustworthy.
