A loan of $1,125 helped a member to buy required materials for her pranda-making business.

Razia's Group's story

Razia has applied for a loan from Kiva partner, Asasah, for the further expansion of her pranda-making business. Prandas are used to tie women’s hair and are a very famous product. With the loan investment, she will buy required materials like colored thread and beads in larger quantity and of better quality. That will allow her to make prandas in larger quantity and to make more profits from her business.

She is very experienced in her business and has been operating it for the past many years. She is very hopeful that a loan investment will be more productive for her.

Her husband is illiterate and operates a food stall in the community market, where he sells nan chanay (a famous dish made with chick-peas and served with bread). The taste of his dish is very good and he makes good money from his business.

Razia is the mother of an 18-year-old son who has studied until eighth grade and currently remains at home.

She is very hopeful about her family’s better future as a result of the loan investment.
