Ibtisam is a 43-year-old Lebanese woman. She’s married and lives with her husband and three school-aged children. She has joined forces with her husband in order to cover their life expenses and pay their children’s study costs.
Ibtisam opened her own artificial flowers shop in 2011; she sells all colours and types of flowers as well. Today, she’s asking to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to buy added products for her shop such as flowers, ribbons, and many other related items. This will certainly increase the number of customers asking for her products and therefore increase her revenue. In the future, she plans to enlarge her shop by adding diverse kinds of flowers to it.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
