Sarom, 47, is widowed and resides with two children in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. She has been selling porridge for over six years, earning approximately USD 5 per day. Her children are construction workers who earn about USD 8 per day. In order to improve her family’s income, Sarom is requesting a loan of USD 800 to purchase groceries for resale. By doing so, she would be able to generate extra income to support the family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her children get bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her present house to make it bigger and more convenient for her family.
