Sa Em, 33, is married and resides with her husband and five children in Prey Veng Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in growing rice and fattening up cattle for over ten years, earning approximately USD 6 per day. Her husband and her son are construction workers who earn about USD 10 per day. Due to the difficulty of her family’s transportation, Sa Em is requesting a loan of USD 1000 to purchase a motorbike to commute. This purchase would enable her to use the money saved on her transportation expenses to support her family. In the future, she would like to purchase more farmland to expand her business and help her children get bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to build a new house as soon as possible.
