Samay's story

Samay, 44, is married and resides with her husband and two children in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia. She is a homemaker. Her husband is a driver, earning about USD 5 per day. One of her children rents a Tuk Tuk to run public transportation (Tuk Tuk taxi). He earns about USD 6 per day. In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Samay wants to have her own Tuk Tuk for her son to run the taxi service. Therefore, Samay is requesting a loan of USD 800 to purchase a Tuk Tuk. This purchase will help her son to earn more income to support the family. In the future, she would like to run a food store and rebuild her present house to make it more comfortable for her family’s living.
