A loan of $375 helped to buy piglets.

Nicholas's story

Nicholas is 28, married and has a one-month-old baby. His main source of income for the past three years has been from his farm (his wife has a shop in the marketplace as well). He is challenged by low prices for his produce, plus pests and plant diseases.

Nicholas has requested a loan of 30,000 KES from Juhudi Kilimo to buy piglets. He says he wants to venture into pigs because they breed so quickly and cost less to feed than animals such as dairy cows.

Nicholas is planning to buy more acres of land to branch out into horticultural farming as well.
