Virginia Trinidad's story

In Portoviejo, the beautiful city of green mountains and enchanting scenery long known as the City of the Valley, we find the place where, every fifteen days, the members of the Banco Comunal La Frontera de Urvavisa convene.

Here we meet Virginia. She is thirty years old and married. From this marriage, she has two children: a two-year-old and four-month-old baby. Her husband works in a municipal company.

She is a teacher in a local high school and also makes her living through business. She sells Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and accessories for ladies). She works in sales three days a week for two or three hours each day in the afternoons, since in the mornings she works in the high school, where she also makes some sales. She dispenses products on credit and charges every eight days. She has more than six years experience with this business and it is going really well. She tells us that the products she sells most often are perfumes and cosmetics.

This loan is for the purchase of perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, and lingerie. She has been a member of the Banco Comunal since its foundation, and she likes it because the payments are easy to make.

Her dream is to have a boutique.
