Gocha's story

Gocha is 48 years old. He lives in a small village of Kaspi District, East Georgia with his family: wife – Marine, 22 year old son and 21 year old daughter. Gocha works as a truck driver in the village. He is mainly busy with transportation of furniture and other loads. Marine and her son lead the agricultural business for the family. They have, in their village, an apple orchard. Marine sells harvested apples to local greengrocery retailers. The total average monthly income of the family is 1200 Laris.

Gocha requested credit for start-up of a pig farm. He will purchase piglets and place them in the old shed located in the family’s garden. In 6-7 months, Gocha will sell grown pigs and get profit. Also, part of the credit will be used for cultivation of a family owned plot of land, for sowing maize. The two new business initiatives will give additional income to the family. They will be able to improve their living conditions.
