Nestor is married with five children. He is forty-seven years old, and resides in Malibangcao, Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. Nestor raises bananas for sale to earn a living and has been thirty-one years in this business. Each month, he earns PHP 2,000 doing this type of business.
He requested a loan of PHP 4,832 to purchase fertilizers and young seedlings to plant. In 2010, Nestor joined GDMPC. In the future, Nestor wants to save as a reserve for future emergencies and to purchase more farm land.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
