A loan of $425 helped to buy flour, firewood, eggs, milk, and green bananas.

Asuncion Agustina's story

Sra. Asunción is a 40-year-old single mother. She lives with her three children in a rented house in a neighborhood of the city of San Lorenzo in southern Honduras. Her children attend school and her daughter is already married. For about 15 years, Doña Asunción has been making and selling snacks such as tacos, enchiladas, roasted meats, turnovers, and bread. She sells from home and also as a street vendor in the surrounding neighborhoods of her community.

Doña Asunción is requesting 8,000 HNL in order to buy flour, firewood, eggs, milk, and green bananas since these are supplies that she needs for making bread and snacks. With this loan, she intends to improve her income so that she can provide a better quality of life for herself and her family. Doña Asunción dreams of succeeding in her business and seeing her children study and live better. She also hopes to have a house of her own.
