A loan of $800 helped buy fertilizers.

Ladis Orlando's story

Orlando is 28 years old, has two children, and is married. His wife works tending the home. Orlando was an employee of a coffee company. He planted, fertilized, and harvested the coffee beans, and that is how he learned to grow it. He began to save his wages and decided to start his own coffee farm. His father-in-law gave him two plots of land for farming coffee and, thanks to God, it has gone well for him. He has been farming coffee for four years and he works from 6:00 am until 1:00 pm. During harvest he hires 10 employees since it is a big job and the farm needs greater care. The advantage of his job is that it gives him good earnings and the difficult part is that vehicles cannot enter into his land so it is difficult to transport the crops. He will use the loan to improve his farm by buying fertilizers. One of his dreams is to be economically solvent to improve his home and add on to it. He also wants to buy more land to raise more coffee, as well as see his children graduate. This is the second loan he has received from FAMA and he was punctual with the loan payments.
