A loan of $700 helped to buy seeds, manure, insecticides, etc.

Benito's story

Benito, 64, lives in a house of his own in a rural zone with his family. He farms basic grains like corn, beans and sorghum; he also raises jocotes [fruit also known as Red Mombin, Purple Mombin, Hog Plum, Sineguela, and Siriguela]. This is his main source of income. He has been in this activity for a long time and this is how he earns his livelihood honestly. He is a very responsible, honest man who is dedicated to his work. He’s very well known by his neighbors who give him good work as well as personal references. He repeats this work each year because he’s a very humble person with scarce resources which keeps him from accessing another type of business or work. This year like in all previous ones he’s decided to cultivate the land and since planting season is approaching he wants to be prepared with farm supplies needed to grow basic grains. This is the reason behind his loan request to INTEGRAL because he does not have the necessary economic resources to make this investment. He will use the loan to buy farm supplies like seeds, manure, insecticide, etc. She hopes this way to farm the main basic grains this year to provide his family with their daily bread.
