Lay, 32, is single and resides with her mother in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been running a grocery store and a business of buying rice to resell for more than two years, earning approximately US $8 per day. In order to improve her family’s livelihood, Lay is requesting a loan of US $1,500 to raise capital for her business to purchase more rice to resell. This purchase would enable her to earn more profit to support her family. In the future, she would like to use the profit to expand her business.
