A loan of $1,150 helped buy scaffolding, mannequins and big mirrors.

Luz Evelyn's story

Luz, 24, lives with her mother and her 2 younger sisters, who are in school and whom she helps with their studies.
She lives in the city of Imperial, known for its warm climate, beautiful beaches and agriculture.
Luz is a kindergarten teacher and worked in a kindergarten, but the income wasn’t very good so she decided to open a children's clothing store. She’s been in business for a year now, working very hard; she is very detail-oriented when it comes to colors and styles. Her mother encouraged her to open this business as she has always supported Luz in everything she does; for Luz, she’s not only her mother, but also her best friend. She thinks her business is doing well because she is detail-oriented, kind, charismatic with her clients and she puts in the effort.

Luz is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because with their help, she’ll be able to buy scaffolding, mannequins and big mirrors. With this improvement in her business, she’ll be able to exhibit her merchandise in a manner that will catch more attention and improve her sales and income, which will help her continue the fight every day to achieve her big dream: complete her teaching degree and have a big clothing store.
