Volimata's story

Volimata is a 44-year-old woman who lives in Senegal. She is married and the mother of 7 children aged between 1 and 22 years. Volimata works as a vendor and also has a snack business. She sells breakfast and dinner in the area where she lives. She also sells fabrics and bags. The only reason for her choice to go into business is that she wants to help husband meet their family responsibilities. This is also why she is very interested in the profits generated by her business and therefore in satisfying her customers' needs.

Volimata has been a member of a UIMCEC branch since October 2009. She is requesting a loan of 150 000 francs to be used to buy the ingredients she needs to make the meals that she sells. Part of the loan will also be used to buy shoes and bags destined for resale. Her aim is to develop her business and increase her profits in order to be able to contribute more to improving her family's social living conditions.
