A loan of $625 helped to purchase beehives with bee colonies.

Ketevan's story

Ketevan is 39 years old. She lives in the Kobuleti District with her family: her husband – Vazha, her 16-year-old son and her father-in-law. Ketevan’s son goes to school.

The family earns a living through agricultural businesses. They have a milk cow and Ketevan produces cheese and sells it in the village. The family also grows citrus and maize on the family-owned 0.5 hectare of land. Ketevan and Vazha sell the harvested products in the local market.

As well as the aforementioned businesses, Ketevan is busy with beekeeping. The family owns 13 beehives with bee families. They harvest on average 150 liters of honey per year and sell in the village. The total average monthly income of the family is 450 Laris, including Ketevan’s father-in-law's pension.

Ketevan requested credit to purchase an additional four beehives and bee colonies. With 17 bee colonies, the family will harvest and sell 25% more honey. The income of the family will increase and the family will be able to improve their living conditions.
