A loan of $3,775 helped a member to buy pork.

Nayran Sarantañani Ii Group's story

The “Nayran Sarantañani II” communal bank will start its second cycle in Pro Mujer as part of the Alto Lima Focal Center. It has nine members led by a governing board headed by Martha. The members of the communal bank carry out a variety of businesses. Among them we have the sale of pork, macramé on blankets, the sale of cattle, machine knitted sweaters, knitting leggings, milk sales and a bookstore. Martha indicates that she’s been in a Pro Mujer communal association for years having been invited to join by her fellow members. She currently sells pork, a business she’s had for years. The loan she’s asking for now is to buy pork that will help her increase her merchandise that she buys in markets in communities in La Paz Department and after preparing it she resells it in the street markets in the city of El Alto. This business helps her support her family since she’s married and has four children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she answers that she likes the savings.
