A loan of $4,800 helped a member to buy vegetables.

Naranjales Group's story

The Communal Bank "NARANJALES" will begin their second cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Collpani regional office. The group has 8 members and is run by a board of directors led by Ximena. The businesses that the members of the communal bank put forward are varied and include: food sales, toy sales, fruit sales, dairy sales, sales of "salchipapas" - fried potatoes with hot dog, and a corner shop. Ximena has been a member of the communal bank with Pro Mujer for 8 months, having joined by invitation from a friend. Currently, she has a vegetable sales business, which she has been working in for years having learnt the trade from her mother. The loan that she will now take out is to raise her capital (to buy vegetables), which she will buy at the markets in the city of El Alto and later sell at her regular post. This business helps her to support her family as she lives with her partner and has three children. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that it's the health.
