A loan of $1,050 helped to buy fertilizers.

Wilmer Omar's story

Wilmer is twenty-seven years old and married with no children. His wife works in the home. The family is close-knit and hardworking. Wilmer makes his living cultivating and selling coffee. He learned to grow coffee working with his father. He always noticed that it was very profitable and so decided to start his own plantation and did so four years ago. He works daily from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm.

One Wilmer's advantages is that he is paid well for the product. One of his disadvantages is that he has to fertilize the coffee crop to protect it from pests that can damage it. Wilmer intends to invest the loan he is requesting in planting more coffee and buying fertilizers. With the help of this loan he will be able to improve production of coffee since his plantation will be in better condition for the application of the fertilizers. His goal is to introduce the use of modern technology to his plantation and in this way to generate more income. With this, he will be able to improve his house for when he has children. This is his first loan cycle with FAMA and he hopes to repay his loan punctually.
