Raheli is a married woman with four children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past two years, Raheli has operated a restaurant business; her potential customers are neighbours and passersby. She faces the major challenge of competition from other restaurant operators in the area. Raheli dreams of establishing an outside catering business for weddings in the future.
With the Kshs 20,000 loan, she wants to purchase food stocks of maize flour, wheat flour and sugar. Raheli decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
