A loan of $4,200 helped a member to buy more sacks of charcoal and to buy more stock of food to sell to more people.

Tuinuane Group's story

Fatuma, who is in her early 40s, is married. She has four children who go to school. She has been running two businesses, selling charcoal and operating as a food vendor since 2005. She works from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm daily and she is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Fatuma's 1st loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, which she wants to use for buying more sacks of charcoal and more stock of food to sell to more people. Her dream is to one day be able to sell charcoal at whole sale prices.

She will share this loan with her loan group, "Tuinuane", which has a total of 16 members. The group members will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
