Juan's story

Juan is a very hardworking man and the father of a 12-year-old son whom he loves very much. Juan works very hard to get ahead and to provide for his son. His home is located in Ica, a city that is known for its hot climate and as a major tourist attraction, since it is home to the famous Huacachina lagoon. Ica is an agricultural city, with an emphasis on the cultivation of cotton, asparagus and grapes. In his free time, Juan like to fix things, and is a very handy man. He also enjoys eating one of his favorites dishes, “Tallarines Rojos” (red pasta).

Juan works every day in his metal working business, where he also tempers glass. He works about 10 hours per day, and can complete projects for three clients each day, depending on the size and complexity of their orders. He believes that business is going so well because he is very responsible and follows through on projects for his clients.

Juan is very grateful to Kiva lenders for their support, which will help him to purchase fiberglass for use in various projects and structures for wholesale. This will allow him to improve his income and quality of life for his son, and will help him towards fulfilling his dream of establishing a chain of glass and metal workshops.
