A loan of $400 helped to buy winter footwear (shoes and boots).

Gladys Amparo's story

Gladys is a very enterprising, enthusiastic young woman. She’s a single mother who raises her 9 year old son who she loves very much and is her reason for living and moving forward. Her house is located in the city of Nazca, a city noted for having one of our country’s most important tourist attractions, the Nazca Lines, which are huge drawings in the middle of an extensive field of arid land which according to some studies were used as a type of calendar by the Nazca people. This city is also noted for the kindness and generosity of its inhabitants. When she has free time, Gladys likes to watch television, especially the novelas [drama serials] and she also likes to enjoy one of her favorite dishes which is the very delicious “Arroz con Pollo.”

With much effort and savings, Gladys started her business selling women’s footwear. She spends about 12 hours per day at work and can see up to 12 customers daily. She believes that she does well in business because she’s responsible and constant in her work.

Gladys is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given her she will be able to buy winter footwear like boots and closed shoes, among others which will allow her to have more variety in products thus improving income to continue striving daily towards making her greatest dream a reality: “To obtain the deed on her house.”
