A loan of $300 helped to buy imported clothes and shoes for re-sale and to revitalize her shoe and dressmaking business.

Hawa's story

Hawa is 39 years old, and has been a retailer for 10 years. She previously lived in the Congo but had to move back to Senegal due to illness. Hawa is divorced and is the mother of two children, aged seventeen and six.
She is asking UIMCEC for help to strengthen her capital, which has been decreasing because she was unable to recover her debts. With the loan, she will buy imported clothes and shoes to resell in Senegal. She will also revitalize her shoe and dressmaking business to send those items to her sister, who still lives in the Congo. There, her sister takes care of selling the items.
Hawa is responsible for herself and her children. She works in order to improve the children's living conditions.
