Yelena's story

Yelena and her 11-year-old son Alexander live in the town of Gladovka. She is divorced. Yelena has farmed vegetables for 15 years already. On 5600 square meters (1.4 acres) of land she grows 300 kg of early radishes, 2,000 cucumber plants, 5,000 tomato plants, 10,000 heads of cabbage, and over a ton of potatoes. Currently her circulating capital is 60,000 hryvnia. Her average net profit is around 3,000 hryvnia.

Yelena plans to invest the loan of 8,000 hryvnia into purchase of 3,000 hryvnia of seed, 3,400 hryvnia of greenhouse plastic, 1,000 hryvnia of chemical fertilizers, and also 600 hryvnia for minor greenhouse repairs.
