A loan of $800 helped increasing her inventory for door-to-door sales.

Amina's story

Amina Q. is an Internally Displaced Person (IDP) from Aghdam, Nagorno Karabakh. Her nephew lives on the border with Turkey, where there’s a big market where prices are lower than in Baku. Amina’s business is simple. She places orders for goods that are fast to sell, her nephew sends them to her, and she does door-to-door sales.

Women who need to purchase a dowry for their daughters know how to find Amina khala (khala is translated as aunt). She always has doilies, towels, blankets, etc. that are not too expensive and it’s possible to buy on a couple of month's credit from her. Amina needs this loan to purchase more inventory because the season has started.
