A loan helped to buy food products and Esika cosmetics.

Ingrid Katerine's story

In the Circunvalación neighborhood of the city of Manta, the Nuevo Proyecto communal bank meets every two weeks. This city is known for its beautiful beaches that are frequented all year round by domestic and foreign tourists. It is also known for being one of the most important ports in the country and in the Americas, located on the Pacific.

This is where Ingrid lives. She is 38 years old, married and the mother of two children, aged 18 and 11. The oldest goes to college and the youngest is in school. Her husband is a master builder.

In order to have her own income, four years ago, with what little she had and with her family's help she was able to set up a locale in her house and stock a general store. Little by little and with the help of loans, she has been able to grow her business. Now her store has everything her customers want since they are the most important thing. In her locale, besides food products she also sells a variety of items such as paper products and Esika products (beauty items, cosmetic, perfume, and women's accessories). She works every day all day long. She stays busy there and makes her living.

She is going to use this loan to stock her store. She will buy all types of food products and Esika cosmetics. She has been in the communal bank for 7 years. She is the bank treasurer and she likes it because the loans help her a lot.

Her goals are to finish her studies and she would like to be a pharmacist.
