Señor De Puquin Group's story

A group of friends and neighbors formed the “Señor de Puquin” communal bank several years ago in Cusco Province. This communal bank has 11 members who look for opportunities to get ahead at every moment and to provide a better future for their children through their efforts. The economic activities of members for example are: crafts sales, clothing sales, food sales, taxi services; some offer bricklaying services and work as employees in private firms.

Alejandro is raising his hand in the photo. He was born in the city of Zurite, Anta Province. He’s 50 years old, married and has two children. Alejandro’s main economic activity is providing taxi services in the city of Cusco. On this occasion, Alejandro needs the loan to service his car.

The members in general are grateful for the opportunity provided and commit to make their installment payments according to the established schedule.

Cusco is located in Cusco District and Province in Cusco Department in the very heart of the ancient city of the Incas. It’s noted for being a very touristy area because of its archaeological sites, its historic city center, for its scenery and history and for being an enchanting city in the southern region of the country. Cusco is known for being very touristy, commercial and for its traditional Inti Raymi festival and because one of the seven wonders of the world, Machupicchu, is found here.

(The members who appear at the bottom of the photograph arrived late at the meeting).
