Shamim Akhtar's Group's story

Shamim akhtar is a 46 year-old married woman who has five children: four sons and one daughter. Her eldest son is a rickshaw driver and financially contributes to the family from his earnings. Two others work in a factory and a fourth one is involved in the timber sales business. Her daughter reads in 2nd standard. Her husband is a driver by profession and earns income for the family by working for 8 hours a day.
Shamim herself is also a very supportive lady. She operates an animal sales business. Her business is home-based. She raises young animals and sells them when grown. This business earns her good profits which she utilizes in managing the financial expenses.

She has requested a loan from Kiva partner, Asasah, for the improvement of her animal sales business. With the loan, she will buy animals (goats) to raise and sell. She is confident that her business will be expanded further after the loan investment.
