Mrs. Sen H., 52, is a widow with nine children. She owns a plot of farmland growing rice, making on average, one dollar a day. Three of her children are married and live outside the family home. Three other children are employed by a garment factory earning a salary $50 each a month and one other child is a wedding chef in the village. The other children help her with the rice fields.

To generate more income for the family, Mrs. H. is requesting a loan to rent a plot of land to grow sugar cane and to purchase fertilizers to put on her fields.
