Nancy Marisol's story

The “Sea of Progress” Community Bank meets every 15 days in the beautiful resort of San Mateo in the city of Manta. This place is known for its beautiful beaches, which are visited year around by local and foreign tourists. In this place most of the people are fisherman or do work involving the sea.
Here we meet Mrs. Nancy, 43 years old, married with two grown children. They live with her even though one is married and lives with his wife. Her husband is a fisherman.
Nancy, in order to earn income, sells products though catalogues such as Avon and Esika (beauty items, perfumes and feminine accessories). She also sells clothes. She works everyday, mostly in the mornings, as the mornings are easier to make her rounds. She sells door to door. When she gets an order she offers layaway plans. She collects the payments weekly. She has been doing this work for the past 13 years. It has been going well and she has a strong customer base. She mostly sells cosmetics and perfumes.
With this loan she will buy clothes, perfume, jewelry, cosmetics and creams. She has been part of the community bank for the past thirteen years. She appreciates the assistance of the loans.
Her dream is to grow her business.
